Dreaming is a kind of spectral journeying. In the past year, I have dreamed of more than a dozen cities, strange and familiar.
These dreams were (ghostly) re-visitations. Like a phantom presence, I re-meandered unnoticed along familiar pathways, water bodies and personal landmarks, re-marking the sights, sounds and scents, re-invoking moments spent and unspent in these places, re-evaluating what I gave to and took from the city in these moments.
In each location I haunted, I attempted to capture latent energies with my trusty third eye, my camera, in keeping with my meta-narrative of a lonely wanderer-jester, scouring the cities of the world for set-pieces of great clarity or absurdity.
Some of these set-pieces I present here: window opening onto window onto another window; city begetting city begetting city…
In each view, a certain restlessness and calm.
