Lucerne is the most beautiful city in Switzerland by far – the grande dame of them all. Its mediaeval old town is graced by a beautiful lake, while in the distance, sleeping-beauty castles perch precariously on the edge of mountains.
The old town itself is adorned with stately, palatial residences, ornate facades and street fixtures. Everything speaks wealth – vast amounts of wealth, status and privilege, befitting of the city’s status as an essential stop on the Alpine trade route.
This is really it: where the Swiss go when they have arrived. And this is where our traveller ought to stay to soak in the elegant, rarefied atmosphere.

About Kennie Ting
I am a wandering cityophile and pattern-finder who is pathologically incapable of staying in one place for any long period of time. When I do, I see the place from different perspectives, obsessive-compulsively.
