Secret Geometries, or Re-acquainting Myself with this Personal Universe called HOME

9 – SCAR

I haven’t told this story: the day before the Museum’s final, 3rd floor, permanent galleries opened, I had a mishap – the kind that left a gash on my forehead, bleeding on my face and bringing me to my knees. Later that day, our donor said that one of the jewellery ensembles in our to-be-opened Jewellery Gallery required a blood sacrifice whenever it was made. No wonder! I thought. I had believed the Jewellery Gallery to be jinxed – the opening of the 3rd floor had been postponed countless times. With my (literal) blood sacrifice, the Jewellery Gallery, and entire 3rd floor could finally open, on 4th April. 3 days later, we shut as Singapore was locked down due to C-19.
